High Performance Skiboards Manufactured by Summit
The evolution of the sport of skiboarding continues. Summit Skiboards introduces 7 models of skiboards this year – all built for high performance riding on the slopes. Not snowboards, not skis, but really a combination of both that makes turning, stopping and riding advanced terrain a breeze. Built by hand with solid wood cores, full wrap steel edges and attention to detail. If you like skiboards, also called snowblades, ski blades or Ski Boards, you won’t look back (or maybe you will to find your friends)! Welcome to the best skiboards on the planet.
Summit introduces a wide body 87 cm length skiboard complete with 4 stainless steel inserts to mount traditional skiboard non-release bindings as well as snowboard bindings. These symmetrical twin tip skiboards are constructed specifically for high performance riding with stability at speeds that is especially insane given the length. This wide body shape is equally at home on the groomed runs as well as in the crud or floating in powder.
These skiboards are the best 87 cm skiboards ever produced including others in the range (even up to 94cm). Summit now takes the sport of skiboarding to a new level of performance, while being able to carve circles around anyone (literally). These definitely push the limits of what was possible on shorter length skiboards.
Summit Headwall 95cm Skiboards
These are high performance twin tip skiboards perfect for fast turns and stops. Full tip-to-tail wood core provides stability at speed and long lasting skiboards. The Summit Headwall 95cm features an aluminum reinforcement plate for maximum retention of step-in release bindings. Made for all mountain riding, the wide body shape is great for groomed runs as well as anywhere else, including crud, ice/hardpack or powder. Summit skiboards are designed with one goal in mind – to take the sport of skiboarding to a new level of performance. Be prepared to push the limits of what you thought was possible on skiboards. Nothing of this size compares at all to the new Headwall 95.
Handcrafted, one pair at a time, with extreme attention to detail, this season’s Summit Headwall 95cm is constructed with a vertically laminated tip-to-tail wood core. The wood is Northern Hemisphere birch which is very light, yet super strong. Colder temperatures create wood that is denser, thus super strong, while being very light in weight. This wood allows for a smooth flex throughout the board which is quite different from skiboards made with cheaper materials that tend to “pop” at unexpected moments.
Summit introduces their all new 99 cm model for the 2012 season complete with integrated Tyrolia LR9 Bindings. As compared to the wider Nomad 99 cm skiboards, the Freedom is a narrower profile skiboard. This narrower design makes for easy and quick edge-to-edge carving, very similar to Salomon Snowblades years back. However, as compared to the snowblades, these skiboards are upgraded for higher performance including a full length tip-to-tail wood core and full wrap steel edges.
The wood core makes for a high energy ride and increased durability. In addition, these are made with a sidewall construction (rather than cap construction) that offers greater torsional stability (eliminates wobbling), greater edge grip and a classy look.
What can we say. These are simply the best, high performance 99cm skiboards on the market. These symmetrical twin tip skiboards are constructed for all mountain riding with stability at speeds you won’t believe. This season offers new graphics and an aluminum reinforcement plate (in addition to the 4 hole inserts for non-release bindings) for those who want to mount these with release bindings. The wide body shape of the Nomads is equally at home on the groomed runs as well as in the crud or floating in powder.
Handcrafted, one pair at a time, with extreme attention to detail, this season’s Summit Nomad 99cm is constructed with a vertically laminated tip-to-tail wood core. The wood is Northern Hemisphere birch which is very light, yet super strong. Triple layer fiberglass, kevlar and rubber dampening layers, aluminum reinforcement place, sintered bases, full wrap steel edges and will accept any bindings, oh my!
Yes, we brought back the Woodie, almost. We have continued the Custom 110 with the Bamboo top sheet. The full length Bamboo topsheet is protected with a polyurethane coating and 5 layers of UV protection. We think they look really sharp. With all new graphics, sintered bases, aggressive edges, twin tip wood core, these are truly ready to ride. As with all Summit Skiboards, these are handcrafted with great attention to detail.
Yes, these do have a solid birch wood core and are constructed with an ABS sidewall construction. Perfect flex, wide body surface area for the deep stuff and speed and oh so smooth. They look so good it is almost a shame to ride them – well, almost.
The Summit Skiboards Custom 110cm for 2012/13 feature a super high quality construction that makes these the best 110cm skiboards on the market. The parabolic sidecut is constructed to function impeccably with the solid Northern Hemisphere Birch vertically laminated wood core. This combination delivers almost effortless carves, with stability at speeds that will truly surprise you. The benefit of Northern Hemisphere Birch is that the colder temperatures cause the trees to grow at a slower pace, thus creating a denser, yet lighter wood. As a result, the birch wood core is very light, yet super strong and durable. Cores are vertically laminated for extra strength.
Announcing the 2012/13 Summit Marauder 125cm Skiboards. These handcrafted Marauders come with hot new graphics. The Summit Skiboards new Marauder 125cm was created with one goal in mind – to take the sport of skiboarding to a new level of performance. Attention powder hounds and speed demons – wait until you ride these boards. Be prepared to push the limits of what you thought was possible on skiboards as these will rival any longer boards on the market including skis and snowboards. What a thrill to ride!
